Since 1987, Donna has been heard on-air as well as on stage with community theatre groups around the Cape. In addition to hosting the mid-day show, Donna is the Traffic Director and schedules commercials in the Traffic department for both Ocean 104.7 & WQRC.

Why/how did you choose a career in radio?
I was working in retail when a friend of mine called and said the radio station she was working for was looking for a receptionist and voice over help. Radio. I had been a theatre major at college and never thought of radio! I jumped at the chance and found I LOVED the environment. The management taught me how it all goes together. I found my voice and theatre training was just the background I needed. That was in 1987. After a few years at some local stations I finally landed here at WOCN/WQRC. I've been here since 1994 and couldn't be happier!
What is your radio career background?
I was a theatre and voice major at Emerson College. The theatre and broadcasting departments were always at odds (friendly fire). I never thought I would end up in broadcasting!! My training, however, made it an easy transition. Sort of like performing in the theatre - only the on-air studio was the stage! (and I didn't have to worry about makeup or costumes)
What do you like best about your job?
Meeting the listeners! It's always a learning experience to hear their comments.
How long have you been a resident of Cape Cod?
I moved here in 1984 to spend time with my parents.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Marlboro Mass and stayed in the area until moving to Colorado for 5 years prior coming to the Cape. I love it here and can't imagine living anywhere else!
What are your favorite activities/interests?
Music, Theatre, Art, Movies (most anything creative)
When not at work, where would you be most likely found?
Probably on stage or in a rehearsal

Would you like to share any additional information with our listeners?
I have been involved with theater since I was in grammar school (that's a long time!) and my interest still continues. I'm very fortunate to be involved with the excellent community theatres here and to work with some very talented actors. It's a rewarding experience when you can make someone laugh or think, change a mood or perhaps forget about the stresses of the day. I know it helps me get through! (The best therapy I know.)
